Mixe was born in 2004 out of Alicia Palma’s kitchen and her friends continual demand for her mouth-watering (and fire breathing) Chile Pasilla. For several years Alicia had been producing her pasilla peppers as gifts for friends and loved ones, until one day she realized it had become a business. Since then her peppers have become well known in her hometown for their unsurpassed flavor and quality.
We were fortunate to find Alicia tucked away in Oaxaca. The love and dedication infused into each batch of product, is rivaled only by her dedication to natural high quality ingredients. We are pleased to introduce her products to the U.S. market, and to support a fledgling woman-owned business that in turn supports local farmers.
